Meet Our Team
The Kim Duncan Design team is made of of Kim Duncan, owner and seasoned interior designer, Alyssa Schmeider, a passionate and experienced planner, and Chrissy Speer, an experienced planner with a diverse wealth of experience. Together, they turn visions into realities.
Kim Duncan, owner + designer
Kim has been passionately creating unique experiences and spaces throughout the United States for over 20 years. While she enjoys the beautiful quality of life that Flagstaff, Arizona has to offer, Kim loves to travel so there isn't a job that is too far away for her experience and expertise.
With a degree in Interior Design and a wealth of experience, Kim brings the principles, essential elements and the art of design to each of her events and projects. Each job Kim oversees is unique, special and reflective of the personalities, desires and wishes of the client.
Alyssa Schmieder, Planner
Alyssa, the founder & owner of Grand Plan Events, began her career in event planning seven years ago. Since then she has been in the fast lane! Alyssa has a wide range of experience having worked with the professional football championship game, Wells Fargo Bank, various non-profit organizations, festivals, weddings, and many more.
Alyssa works efficiently and focuses on details. Events are her passion. Her knowledge and experience with both corporate and social events has led her to become a sought after planner. She has a talent for working with diverse clients and will take on any challenge. Alyssa attended Arizona State University and graduated with a degree in Recreation and Tourism Management. She loves her two dogs, Sophie and Bella, and enjoys being outdoors with her Husband. Alyssa is outgoing and always ready to have some fun.
Chrissy Speer, Planner
Chrissy has been planning weddings and events for almost 15 years. She started her career as the wedding coordinator for a ski resort in 2001 and since then has gained experience working everything from large scale corporate events and trade shows to small intimate dinners at private homes and everything in between. The past 4 years Chrissy has been the Director of Catering for an upscale private golf course community where she has planned and executed over 50 upscale weddings.
Originally from Massachusetts, Chrissy moved to Flagstaff in 1998 where she attended and graduated from Northern Arizona Universities Hotel and Restaurant Management school. She worked as an intern in Telluride, CO planning amazing mountain wedding and events learning many of the skills she carries with her today. Chrissy also worked in the hotel world for 7 years with companies including Starwood, Hyatt, and Marriott in conference planning, corporate events, trade shows, galas, hotel sales, and of course weddings. All of this experience is what has made Chrissy the knowledgeable, detail oriented, successful planner that she is today.
